Gung Ho!

I’m really trying to make an effort to read a lot more this year. I feel that not only does it help further your own personal knowledge and understanding it’s also a good antidote to looking at digital screens!

Whilst I constantly look to expand the list of “must reads” I do have a number of key books that have helped me shape my culture, vision and outlook in business. I’m going to share a number of these in the coming weeks.

First up is the book “Gung Ho”. Recommended to me by a former colleague, it became one of my instant hits and most often read.

Though simple in style, its message is impactful, making it a valuable read for anyone looking to inspire their teams. It’s a powerful parable about leadership and motivation. Through the story of a struggling factory turned around by an enthusiastic team, the book introduces three core principles: the Spirit of the Squirrel (worthwhile work), the Way of the Beaver (in-control employees), and the Gift of the Goose (cheering each other on).

“Gung Ho!” offers practical lessons in building team spirit and improving organisational performance through simple methods to get great results.

What are some of your “must reads”?
